Hi Audrey.
Sincere thanks for your assistance and your time.
I think it may well be my relative although I was expecting the groom to be a joiner rather than his father.
You are doing  wonderful service to all of us who cannot get to Manchester. You are a star !!!
Best wishes,   Shirley.    :D

Dear Aud,

Once again thank you so much, do hope that you managed to do this without too much trouble. It is most appreciated, as I feel I can now get a birth certificate from a choice of four!, as I know his father was called James from his son's marriage certificate.

Hope you are enjoying the lovely Manchester sunshine,
Kind regards, and again many thanks for all the work you have done,
Pat

Dear Aud

After years of research and getting no where I think I found my GGParents marriage, and I was wondering if and when you have time and you are researching your family would you look up this one for me?
JOSEPH MURGATROYD
Marriages:
Spouse:  MARY QUIGLEY  Family
Marriage:  11 MAY 1845   Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire, England
If you  are too busy I will understand, but I must tell you that all you have done for me has now been entered into my family history and has been substantiated with other records, so I really have appreciated your help in more ways than I can tell you.
Kind regards,
Pat

Pat
I will gladly do this for you but it may not be for some time as I am going on holiday next week for 3 weeks. I have been visiting Tameside local studies and not Manchester for the past 4 weeks and will still need to go there when I return.
I have put your query in my book and will do it on my next visist to Manchester.
Glad to help.

To all you patient people.
I finally managed to get into Manchester and have these details

11/5/1845 after banns
Joseph Murgatroyd - of full age - bachelor - coachmaker - Oxford Road - father Joseph - smith
Mary Quigley - of full age - spinster - 223 Oxford Road - father Peter - shoemaker

Joseph marked a X/Mary signed
Witnesses James Norbury/Ann F or J orcs? Quigley
Unsure about middle name.

18/6/1838 after banns
James Fish - of full age - bachelor - bricklayer - Percival Street - father Richard - weaver
Lettice Hayhurst - of full age - spinster - Percival Street - father John - grocer

Both marked with X
Witnesses Charles Walmsley/John Carr both signed.

2/6/1831

Joseph Stead bachelor of this parish, spinner and Mary Lee married by licence
Joseph was able to write his name but Mary marked with a X.
Witnesses Catherine Goulding/Frederick Hardacre both marked with a X.

Hope this helps you some.

Happy New Year

Dear Aud

Thank you so very much. I did not mind waiting and I know it is an imposition on your time. I am so grateful as this confirms for me another set of my grandparents.

I wish you happiness, good health and a successful 2006.

Kindest regards and appreciation.
Pat

As one of the colonist (California), I could sure use your help.  I'm trying to find out who is the father of an Edward Cramsie.  He married an Ann Clark on 29 Aug 1925 at Manchester Cathedral.  Can you help?  Thanks and Take Care!
