Bill

Will be happy to look this up for you and send transcription Will hope to go one day next week,

Audrey

Could you possibly look a marriage up for me too?
I have a family bible that states my gt-gt-gt grandparents marriage as:
Joshua Mitchell
Married
Elizabeth Coppock (may be Coppart or Coppock - I have both spellings on documents !)
Married at Manchester Cathederal on 20 May 1869.

I think from info I have that they may have lived in the area known as "Clock Alley" by the cathederal.
Any information would be wonderful!

Gaille

Manchester – Bate(s) / Bebbington / Coppock or Coppart / Evans / Mitchell / Prince / Smith

Cheshire Latchford – Bibby / Savage / Smith.
Cheshire Macclesfield,  Bollington & Rainow – Childs / Flint / Mc'rea
Cheshire Crewe – Bate(s) / Bebbington
Shropshire Wellington, Wobwell – Smith
Walsall Midds – Smith
Norfolk - Childs / Hanwell / Smith

Also looking for:
Mc'Rea/McCrea – Ireland to Cheshire

And
any relatives of Margaret Bibby married to Thomas Smith all over country

Hi Audrey
I would be grateful for a look up too. It was a marriage between Hiram Wallwork and Emily Bradshaw at Christchurch, Pendlebury, First Quarter 1870 film MFPR 1452 1970 C13/1/163

Managed to get to the library for a couple of hours today.

Firstly there was no marriage at M/c Cathedral for Edward Cramsie on 29/8/1925.
Sorry

The other two I did find..

20/5/1869 after banns at M/c cathedral

Joshua Mitchell – 29 – bachelor – 38 Chapel Street – John Mitchell – spinner
Elizabeth Coppart – 21 – spinster – no occupation - same address – John Coppart – tailor
Joshua signed his name/Elizabeth marked with a cross.
Witnesses Richard Ashton who signed and Mary Ann Coppart who marked with a cross

Note as neither of the Copparts could sign they would not be able to correct any wrong spellings.

14/3/1870 after banns at Christ Church, Pendlebury

Hiram Walwork – 22 – bachelor – engineer – Pendlebury – James Walwork – gentleman
Emily Bradshaw – 19 – spinster – weaver – Pendlebury – Timothy Bradshaw – engineer
Both signed their names and the witnesses were Robert Wallwork and either Mary  or May Ann Bradshaw.

Note the entry on marriage certificate was spelt with one “l”
Both the signatures had 2 .

Hope these help.

Thanks Audrey- This is the correct marriage and the father was James but he must have made a lot of money selling beer because he now says he's a gentleman!

Aud, thank you SO much! I realy appreciate the time you took to do this for me:)

I had a feeling it might have Coppart instead of Coppock, I have the same spelling on other documents.
I am kind of surprised to see Joshua was a spinner he must have been a bit of a 'go getter' cos 2 years later he had his own buiness.

2 new names to add to my tree :D
Elizabeth named her daughter - my gt-grandma - Mary ann, now I know who she named her for :)
(Wonder if thier mother was Mary Ann too......)

Thank you for looking them up for me Aud :)
