Sorry you a right.  My post was confusing, the Patrick I was referring to was Patrick Powell-he was Sarah's son, his birth certificate lists him as illegitimate.  And again I should have checked my facts instead of relying on my memory before posting.  Patrick Farrell (who I think is Powell) is in the 1930 census living in New York with Sarah and Anthony.  I was looking for information on Ellen Powell Farrell, I think she was the only one to stay in Scotland.  I was wondering, about any children they may have had.  I did use Scotland's People and I think I found some on the 1911 census.  Thanks for your reply....sorry I wasn't more clear

O.K. here is what I had hidden away

As far as James Powell and Mary Ann Murphy’s children go I have this;
Catharine Powell born 29th April 1876 Armagh (she may have married someone Yorke)
Mary Anne Powell born 25th January 1878 Armagh
Susan Powell born 23rd May 1879 Armagh, she married Patrick Howley and went to the USA in 1928 on board the “Transylvania”
Sarah Powell was born 1881 Armagh, married Anthony Farrell she went to the USA in 1912
Theresa Powell was born 1883 Armagh
Ellen Powell was born 1885 Armagh, married Patrick Farrell and stayed in Motherwell
Francis Powell was born 1890-1891 and went to the USA in 1922 as previously posted
Bridget Powell was born about 1893 and went to the USA with Sarah in 1912
James Powell was born about 1895 and went to the USA in 1923 on board the “Cameronia”
Annie Powell was born about 1897 and I have no idea

As far as Patrick Powell/Farrell is concerned he lived with his grandmother Mary Ann, perhaps due to his illegitimacy. He went to the USA in 1920 on board the “Mauretania” and he is on the 1925 & 1930 Census living with his mother and father.

As for Patrick Farrell & Ellen Powell;
Patrick was born in 1879, Killala, Mayo, Ireland, he married Ellen Powell in 1907 in Craigneuk. Patrick died in 1955 and Ellen in 1963, both in Motherwell
Children are, Patrick, Mary, James, Anthony, Veronica, Sarah, Ellen, Thomas, Francis and Joseph

I hope this helps in your friends search

Kindest regards
Liz

Liz,
Thanks so much for all your help.  I really appreciate it.  I knew Francis's wife died, and he went to the US, but didn't know when.
Thanks and take care,
Cathy
