Silverdale Rd, Warton, Lancaster

I have just received the death certificate for my Grandfathers first wife, they lived in Otley, Yorkshire, but his wife died at Woodbine Villa ,Silverdale Rd, Warton Lancaster. She died from TB in 1917 aged 24. I was wondering if this was some sort of convalescence home in 1917, informant of death was an inmate at the house the death occured. Any help most appreciated.

Hi Ginny - not a lot of help, but Silverdale Road was actually in the neighbouring village of Yealand Redmayne, there is no Silverdale Road in Warton.  Yealand Redmayne is and was a predominately farming and Quaker village.  It has changed very little, if at all - and although they may have been renamed -  I would think that any houses there in the early 1900s are still there - regards - Jackie

Thank you for your reply. I found the house on the 1901 census, it was occupied by one lady whose occupation was lodging house keeper but no lodgers.
