Look up please for David Peat and family
« on: Friday 08 February 08 11:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi  :)

Can someone please help me find David Peat and family in any census between 1841 and 1871 - I think he died in 1877. Need any details you can offer - thanks. He was born about 1809 and I think he was born in Stone, Staffordshire, though not sure. His wife was Mary and there were boys called David and Melling.

Thanks in advance.

Juljul

Hi Tati

I think the folio piece for 1841 is for Upper Hallam and:  1334/6, 6, 40b. Beyond this I don't know anything other than address may possibly be a Belak Green? and household: David, Mary and Eliza (source SRO).

Just wondering what happened to Eliza also as I cannot find a death record for her ???

Any ideas?
Thanks.

Defo looks like the one!  :D

HO107/1334/6 40 5
Upper Hallam

David P?at, 30, Quarry Labourer, no
Mary, 20, yes
Eliza, 3 months, yes

I can't see a death for Eliza either. There's on in Ecclesfield in 1842 but it's not the right registration district...  :-\

I have read with interest your posts relating to the peat family in Fulwood and dore. I am related to this family through david peat as mentioned, via his daughter lucy. I have plenty of info to share, but very little prior to David arriving in upper hallam in 1841 from stone, staffordshire.

please reply...
