Hi

You don't say which year Sidney junior or Sidney senior were born but there is this birth on freebmd

Sidney Edward Fewings March qtr 1902 South Molton  Devon  Volume: 5b  Page: 383

If that is your fathers birth - this could be his parents on the 1901 census for Thelbridge,  Children all b Witheridge

Sidney Fewings 30 b Romansleigh
Emily Fewings 30  b Sidbury
Percy Fewings 8
Alice Fewings 5
Bessie Fewings 1

I have checked the full GRO index and there is no birth for a Sidney Edward Fewings in the June quarter of 1932/33/34

Are you sure he was born in April

What year and what month did your dad die - I can look it up and check his age

There a several of us with Fewings/Fewins in our family trees who have come from Haterleigh and surrounding areas. There are lots listed on Genes Reunited including  Margaret born in Dawlish listed by two different people plus a Sid born 1933.

I have not gone much beyond 1900 with my lot. The name Angell runs through with several of my names.

so the Sidney Edward Fewings that Carole found could be your fathers father then, it is much harder to serach after 1920 as you have to serach qtr by qtr and also be very careful as the people may still be alive.
so Sidney Edward that Carole found could have possibly married Mary unknown
what we need to find in the BMD index is your faters birth entry, this would give us his mmn. (mothers maiden name) and then you can work back from there find the marriage between the the mmn. & the father.

Hi

Quote
i think he was born in april 1933

According to the death index - your dad was b 5.4.1923 - not 1933 -I checked the full GRO index for the whole of 1923 and there was nothing listed for him so somebody may have given the wrong birthyear when his death was registered

However - I found his birth in the June quarter of 1924 - mothers maiden name was DOWN

Sydney E Fewings  Tiverton Volume 5B Page 560

You can now order a copy of his birth cert using that reference at www.gro.gov.uk - cost is £7
