I am researching six CRISPIN brothers born in Middlesex near the end of the nineteenth century.

Francis George CRISPIN was my ancestor. He was born at Kingsbury in August 1883, and I have his life well documented.

The other five are a complete mystery. They are Stanley - born about 1882; Cecil - born about 1886; Horace - born about 1889; Charles - born about 1894 and Robert - born about 1897.

I have them together in the 1901 Census but then nothing.

Their parents were James CRISPIN and Mary Ann CRISPIN (maiden name ORCHARD).

Is there anyone who knows what happened to any of these brothers?

Hi Woggitt - unfortunately most of the lifetime of the brothers was probably lived outside the period when such research is reasonably easy for us - after the 1901 census and after 1911 which is effectively the date up to which freeBMD has indexed. Outside that it is usually the slow and possibly expensive troll through www.1837online.com
However, not all is hopeless as each of these men was of an age to serve in WWI and so may easily appear on the Medal Rolls. Also they may have been casualties of that war. The CWGC has all of those listed and in many cases next of kin are noted - those sometimes lead to wives and even to children.

I did a quick look for suitable possible marriages for the boys and found no likely ones in Middlesex and few elsewhere. You may have better luck when  freeBMD gets further on.

As I can see from your info that you are in this country
You can always search BMD indexes free of charge at your local large library.
I often use Bedford and Northampton,to give you some idea of the type of library you would need.
Most of these records are available virtually up to date now.

But be prepared for a long hard slog though- take a picnic and a thermos!!
