G'day, I have Janet Stewart and John and Mary Stewart in my tree.
I am confident they would be the same ones.

Well, sorry folks. As you may all know such is detective work, I was on the wrong track.
My grandmother changed her birth name from Agnes Lennox Stewart to Nana Lennox Stewart when she emigrated to New Zealand.
Hence the wrong family was being traced. I am pleased to let you know I found the right family originating from Cambusthean/Motherwell.
Thank you all for your (fruitless)help. But wasn't it fun and eventually a lot of good information was divulged.

hi,

this is such a long shot, but I am searching for any information on my late Father who I believe may have been born in the St Rollox area. His name was (*) Rennie born on 14th August btween 1930 - 1934. I was gven a name (*) also  that was related to him. He lived in Liverpool also and Newcastle. I thought I would just send a message and ask if you had any information on such a person? thanks so much..

Donna,
Welcome to Rootschat.

Not such a long shot.
According to Scotland's People, there were only 6 (*) Rennies born over the period you state, 1 of whom was born in St Rollox in 1934.
Unfortunately, the record is too recent to view online.
Unless you can visit Glasgow or Edinburgh, you would need to purchase the death record from GROS.
The GROS ref is    644/08 2254

Dave

Cost is £12.
Info on how to obtain extract.....   http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/famrec/bdm.html

PS The info you should get on the document would be exact time and date born, where born, details of both parents.

Many Thanks Dave for all your help. Unfortunatley I dont even know my father's parent's names, so would still be none the wiser if it was him.

He could possibly have been born anywhere in Glasgow. I need to find someone who knows a (*) Rennie that then lived in Liverpool as a youngster and then Newcastle Upon Tyne in his 30'2.

no, i have nothing about him what so ever other than his name was (*) Rennie born in Glasogow on 14th August around 1930-1934. he then moved to Liver pool as a child and then Newcastle. I know he was married then with 3 children and one on the way, then met my Mother and had me.

I believe he moved back to Scotland in his later years before he passed on. I am teying to trace other brothers and sisters of mine to by him but have no leads at all.
