The St Rollox Business & Retail Park (shown on the map above) is on the site of the old Caledonian Railway's St Rollox Locomotive & Carriage Works.  These works began in 1856 and lasted - as repair shops - until fairly recently (1970s?)
Ballingall, Donaldson, Fulton, Gillespie, Ramsay, Walker - in Fife.
Bury - in Salford & Liverpool.
Jack - in Glasgow, Dunfermline & Dundee.
Bermingham/Birmingham - in Cork.
Eagle - in Norfolk, Edinburgh & Glasgow.

There are 2 Janet Stewart's listed on Scotland's People both born in the year 1898, Lanark, St Rollox.

St Rollox is also known as the Garngad.

The Garngad was a well known Irish quarter in Glasgow.

Districts did change from High Church to Dennistoun to St Rollox over time.

The Garngad is now known as Royston Road. There is some interesting information on the internet about the Garngad.

Hopefully this information may be helpful with your searches.

Hi, my dad's birth certificate states that he was  born in the maternity hospital glasgow, registered in the district of St Rollox and his address was listed as Mathieson Street, Hutchesontown.  Is this the same st rollox or is it a diiferent part of the city?

As far as I'm aware there was only one St Rollox area in Glasgow although it did cover a huge area including parts of Springburn, Garngad right down to the Royal Infirmary area which would have included the maternity hospital.

Is it Janet Orr Stewart, 14/04/1896 who married a James Withers, 1921, in the Gorbals,
Glasgow, that you are searching for?

P.S. St. Rollox Retail Park, the old railway depot is in what is now known as the Springburn area of Glasgow just north of the Royal Infirmary in Glasgow which will be on any map.
