Hi annie,

I'm searching for details of Thomas Henry (b: 1846?) who married Harriet (born 1846?), their son George Harry Hurst (born 1879), George married Elizabeth Hurst (nee Hurst, born 1880) and they had child George Albert Hrst born Wigston 1905?

Elizabeths mother and father were Harriet Hurst (born 1852?) and George Hurst born 1850? So there were Hurst all round, either from Oadby and Wigston?

this is the thread that led me to this site. i have been researching the hurst of wigston. my grandmother madie hurst was the grand daughter of samuel hurst who's brother was issac who ran the black dog pub in oadby.

i have uncovered quite a lot re the hursts if you are still around, 3 years later.

Hi PaulChapman,
I too have researched the 'Hurst' family in Wigston & Oadby. I can try to help you if you can give me some dates regarding  Samuel & Isaac Hurst.  My ancestors are from William Hurst who was Baptised 11th November 1821 at Oadby - parents were John & Elizabeth Hurst (nee Norman).  William married Mary Heard on the 13th July 1845 at Wigston Magna. I will try to help if you contact me.  Regards

hi, samuel hurst (senior) was born in 1801, i believe he was married to a sarah measures in wigston on 30th september 1821. amongst the children were issac (1832) who ran the black dog pub in oadby for 8 years. another josiah (1834) worked as a butler at the tower of london.

the various branches of this family were spread all over wigston in the 19th century, in 1851 samuel and his family were at 29 bushloe end which is about 10 paces from my parents house now.

samuel hursts (senior) parents were i believe william hurst 1766-1831 and a catherine bellamy. must tie in with your william somewhere?
