Tiley family
« on: Friday 07 January 05 17:03 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the ancestors of my ggf William Tiley b 1836/1837 in Stockwell. He was born before compulsory registration.

He married Elizabeth Mary Hunt in 1859 in Yaxley Huntingdonshire (near Peterborough). According to his marriage cert he was living in Kingston on Thames at the time. On the certificate his father was named as Thomas Tiley.

Does anyone have any data on Thomas please.

What about this entry from the IGI on FamilySearch:

WILLIAM TILEY
  Male
~~~~~~~~
Event(s):
 Birth:
 Christening:  23 NOV 1836   Saint Mathew, Brixton, London, England
 Death:
 Burial:
~~~~~~~~
Parents:
  Father:  THOMAS TILEY  Family
  Mother:  ELIZA

Stockwell is pretty close to Brixton, so it's a possibility.  No sign of any other siblings or parent's marriage though....

Thanks for the reply.

I had found this entry before  but so far I have been unable to prove that it was my William or his father Thomas. It is hopeful but not proven.
