woolwich help please
« on: Friday 01 February 08 08:55 GMT (UK) »
I am searching for the birth/baptism of Maria BUTLER c1870 Woolwich. She also has a brother Charles BUTLER c 1867 Woolwich. At first glance they appear to be on 1871 census but that is not my Maria as this one appears on a later census under her married name living with her parents.
Mine are in the Metropolitan District school in 1881 and Maria married William PEARSON 1890 in Kent.
This is the only one I have so far drawn a blank on. Any help please.
Gloria

You don't appear to have any birth certificate, for either Charles or Maria?

The 1881 ref is RG11/760; F72; P5 (epsom, surrey).
1891 ref? RG12/650; F57; P52 (northfleet, kent)
1901 ref? RG13/716; F14; P20

Do the school hold any helpful records?, What were the criteria for admission?

what parental information is given on the 1890 marriage certificate?

How have you deduced that Maria and Charles are in fact siblings?

Maria BUTLER  gives her fathers name as William BUTLER when she marries William Pearson.
SKS looked at the info at LMA and Charles and Maria are both given as each others living nearest relation and they are both described as illegitimate.

so far I have been unable to find a birth registered for Maria or any baptisms.

What date were they admitted?
What deaths of a adult female Butler(s) occurred at or just before that time?
Maria may have been born after census of course, so you'll need every scrap of info to chase..
