Jersey Photographs circa 1900.
« on: Thursday 31 January 08 17:20 GMT (UK) »
I have three family photos by the following photographers,
Billingham Downham 16 Royal Parade.
T.Price and Son 2/4Peter St.
Jersey Sunny Pictures, The Pagoda,52 Colomberie.

I expect they are know longer in business.

Do you know if anyone has their collections of photographs. They all advertise copies always available.

                                Bertram.

Hi Bertram -

If you look on the Jersey Archives site, they list a number of old photographs by these photographers -   http://jerseyheritagetrust.jeron.je

Click on 'Archives' and then 'Names' -  and type in 'Price, T' or 'Billinghurst'  [Note it is not Billingham] then click on 'go' - and you will find loads of interesting information and images.

Thanks Mike I will follow up that information regards the photographs.
Have not been in touch recently having spent five months in hospital following aroad accident.
In the 1891 census the Voivenels are listed father mother and sister inlaw. Would you mind having a look at the sisterinlaws second name?

Another place to look:

http://www.societe-jersiaise.org/

On the right hand side of the home page you get access to the photographic collection. Click to search the catalogue and enter the names under "Name". You can see further photographs.
