Hi Everyone,
Was wondering if anyone ha any info on The Old Dalbeth Cemetery (also called St. Peters ) in Glasgow.
I have a relative that is buried there. His info that i have on him is :
Peter Farrell b. ? Ireland d. 14 Apr 1886 in Anderston, Burgh of Glasgow.
Burial - Dalbeth RC Cemetery
Crypt # 108 , single layer, east side.
Certificate # 673
Date of Puchase - 13 Jun 1863 witness, William Gimour, superintendent of cemetery.
I don't really know what the Certificate # means. Or why he purchased a burial plot 20 years before he died. My only thinking is that his mother might be buried in the same cemetery because she died in Winter 1861.
Her info is
Ann Flood , formally Farrell , nee Devlin b. ? d. 25 Nov 1861 in Clyde,Glasgow
She had married a Luke Flood in Glasgow on 10 Oct 1852.
I don't know what name she would be buried under ?
Does anyone know of this Cemetery or live near it ? I would appreciate any help in finding anything out, especially what might be on the tombstone , if there still is one.
Thank you,
Megan Flanigan Townsend
