Many thanks for the link - the site is new to me and could be useful in future.
I see they publish this little caveat:
Some establishments are not even listed as pubs, but just a number and a road (eg. 10 High St) - but if the head of the household was a "publican", "inn keeper", "licenced victualler, "beer seller" etc we have assumed that this was a pub.
I think that applies in this case, and I made exactly that assumption myself when I first looked at the 1881 census.
Well, I'm grateful to my licensed victualler for bringing me to this friendly and helpful Warwickshire board - I've enjoyed my holiday here - but now I'm off back to Sussex where most of my lot are from.
