Hi Trisha, or anybody following the Griffin trail. I am John Griffins great Grandson and would be interested in comparing our findings.I am in contact with a relative of Thomas landen which has proved very interesting. My father lived in Walkington until he married, and I live close so I am finding it interesting talking to local people ( The elderly have fantastic memories) hope your still searching.

hello nifnif:

I am connected to the Griffins family via Elizabeth Richardson who married John Griffins.  Just returned from holidays yesterday so will be in touch again in the next couple of days. Busy unpacking today.

cheers

Hey - Trish is here!

I've been quiet cause I seem to meet dead ends. It looks like things may get interesting again, which is great.

Am at work at moment, but feel free to leave messages!

Cheers,
Trisha

Hi Trisha,
Sorry for the delay in getting back in touch, been very busy!   Sorry if the following format looks familiar:
How I believe I am related:   Father Tom Curtis Griffin (not Thomas) born Meaux, Beverley 1924 of Berty Griffin and Edith Annie Griffin (nee Curtis).
Grandfather Berty born Walkington (Beverley District) 1892/3 of John Griffin born Denton and Elizabeth Griffin (nee Richardson) born Beverley (1858).
Also born to John and Elizabeth:  Jane Ann (Beverley District) 1882), Albert Edward 1885/6, Ernest 1887, Jack Richardson 1889/90, Bertie 1892, Thomas 1896, Robert 1899.
Don`t know where AnnMc`s info came from for Ellen 1885 or Walter 1891 (AnnMc 25/3/08).  The rest is familiar to you I am sure.
Would love to hear from you regarding any missing info you might require in case I can lay my hands on it easier with being so local. Look forward to hearing from you.   Brian
