Hi
I'm looking for a birth/christening for a John Phillips (a nice uncommon name I know

) from Bristol in the 1820s.
He got married in Brisbane, Australia in 1851 (where his certificate says he was from Sydney so he possibly spent some time in Aus before moving to Brisbane and getting married) and he remarried in Brisbane in 1863. From this certificate I have his parents - John Phillips, glass blower and, I think, Maria Josham?? I was going to attach a scan of this but that option is not there below.
His stated age on the 1863 marriage certificate is 40, a son's birth certificate in 1871 says he is 50 and his death certificate in May 1904 says he died at 78years, 1 month and 21 days!!! (If only we could trust old documents to be that accurate

) so there is a range of years. All these later certificates say he came from Bristol.
I've found a reference in the Bristol RO online catalogue of a John Phillips, glass maker, being granted a burgess certificate in 1818. Apart from a Mary Ann Joshambeing born in Bristol in 1793I can't find anything definite on the IGI and if he was still in Bristol in 1841, he wasn't living with his parents.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Glen
