Completed - Visiting Tomnahurich Cemetery?
« on: Friday 25 January 08 21:04 GMT (UK) »
Hello again!

If anyone happens to be in the area, or visiting Tomnahurich cemetery and can take a photo of a couple of graves, I would be very grateful.

They are at Class 6, Section C, Lairs 19 & 20.

They should be William Reid and Elizabeth Simpson Reid

and in the other, Donald MacKenzie Reid and Catherine Isobel Reid.

Thanks (it is a bit difficult for me to do it myself from Manchester!)

Fiona  :D

I've taken a note of this and will do it on Monday - weather permitting!

I am in the U.S. and have a grandfather buried at Tomnahurich.  How does one find out which section any specific grave is in?

Contact :
Administration Office
Kilvean Cemetery
Kilvean Road
Inverness
IV3 8JN

Tel: 01463 717849

Fax: 01463 717850

Tomnahurich Office has been closed for quite some time and Tomnahurich is administered by the "new" Kilvean Crematorium/Cemetery,

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much!  I haven't been in Inverness since the 1970s!  Does Kilvean have records as to where various graves are located?

Yes.

That is where I get my information on relatives.

Originally from Inverness, I have a lot of family buried there.  The staff are very helpful, on personal visits and by post.

I could not get a plan/leaflet/map of Tomnahurich layout.  I spoke to a  stonemason who was working on a headstone and had a book of plans and he pointed me in the  right direction!
