I am trying to trace Sarah Jane Heelis who might possibly be on the 1871 Salford Regent Rd area sensus, possibly around Crowther St. I do have a copy of the census but will be grateful to anyone who might have a Surname index and can give me a push in the right direction. Adalaide

Re;Sarah Jane heelis- I know it was sometime go that you posted your message. She is my great great grandmother I think. Mother to my great grandfather Thomas William Heelis also born Liverpool 1857. I cannot find a birth certificate for Thomas but Ihave one for his brother, Josiah born Bolton 1859. His father was Alfred Heelis and Sarah Jane nee Bedson.  It looks like they fell on hard times in the workhouse. No sign of any father.
