Carmel Chapel, Maesteg Address
« on: Wednesday 23 January 08 20:09 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone let me know what the address of the Carmel Chapel in Measteg.  I understand it is on Bethania or Commercial street but I cannot locate an address.

I understand there is also a Bethania Chapel which may or may not be one and the same chapel.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There are a few chapels on Commercial Street and Bethania Street - Commercial Street is the main street through the town, and joins onto Bethania Street heading out towards Bridgend.

I think I know which one the Carmel Chapel is, but I don't think there is a particular number as it's sat on it's own with a field one side, and a housing estate the other. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's in Bethania Street.

I'll take a drive past tonite after work and will mail you when I get home - it'll be dark, so I can't take a photo.

If you want, I can get an image on Saturday and mail it to you (assuming I've got the right one!). I can then point you in the right direction on Google Local to locate it exactly

halfasheep,

many thanks for your reply and kind offer to take a look to confirm the address of the chapel.  I would be interested in a photo if this is possible but only if it is not too much trouble.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind Regards

Not a problem - got your PM too, so will contact you when I get home later - will prob be around the 7 to 8ish mark.

Like I say, there are a few chapels - I've got a feeling it's one of two I'm thinking of (it may even be the one my auntie got amrried in in the 80's actually).

If it is one of those two, they're both definately still in use

Ok - Will get photo's for you on Saturday/Sunday and e-mail them to the e-mail you PM'd me.

It's still there, and it's still open - it was the one my auntie got married in.

It's on Commercial Street, BUT there is no number.

There are houses either side. Facing the chapel, the house to the left is number 69. The house to the right is number 70!! So i'd assume the chapel is 69b  ;D

There are contact numbers on a sign there, but didn;t have time to stop and write them down - I'll get them for you and send them with the the photo's.

If anyone else out there is after photo's of the various churches and chapels arouns here, let me know - home broadband is up and running now!

Hi there - I e-mailed those images to you yesterday (well two - couldn't get the other two to load up for some reason!).

Hopefully it went through ok, but thought I'd post here too so you get a notification
