Hi Pete.
I don't think so. However there seems to be a lot of ties between various stimpson/simpson families at that time and they all seem to have known each other.
I have a sneaky suspicion that somewhere there were only a few stimpson families but as i am totally stuck and can't get any further back for the moment it remains a suspicion.
At the weekend i'll dig out my records and check though just to be sure.

Many of my Oxford ancestors came from St Peter Le Bailey, Names are Edgington, Smith and Inkpen.
