CaroleW,
Thanks for that message, I can relate to the "Land of my Fathers" bit, it gets me every time. I was born in Barry,
Glamorgan of an English Father (Berkshire) and a Welsh
Mother. I have a bit of a mixed up family, two Daughters,
one born in Wales the other in Canada and two Sons, one
born in Scotland the other in Canada. My husband is a Scot
with an Irish Grandfather, so you see we have the UK pretty
well covered. We have visited your part of the world a few
times. Have been in Monmouth, Skenfrith, Llantillio Crosseny
and loved that part of the country. The Wye Valley is really
lovely and so much history all around. Yes, I have the 1851
Census you mentioned, courtesy of another person on Rootschat. Thanks again, tell you husband to hang on to his
love of Wales. My eldest Daughter left Wales as a child but
still has a soft spot for all things Welsh. Nice chatting with
you.
