Birstall marriage Alderson/Crowther

Might have stumbed over a hot one tonight on IGI.   Now all I need to do is confirm a marriage for Sarah Crowther and John Alderson 23 May 1836.

According to the detail in IGI the info was sourced from
Bishop's transcripts for Birstall, 1598-1878
Authors: Church of England. Parish Church of Birstall (Yorkshire) (Main Author)
Microfilm of original records in the Borthwick Institute, York and in the West Yorkshire Archives Service, Sheepscar, Leeds.

Wonder if anyone has access to the information or is planning a trip in the near future. I'm hoping to try and get more information beyond just the date.

There's also pointers to indexes held by the YAS but it involves an self addressed envelope on Yorkshire to Australia and I'm not quite at that point - yet.

Hi Graeme,

I can confirm that the marriage date is correct, by banns and both parties abodes was Cleckheaton, at the time of the marriage.

This info is from Index of Marriages, at St. Peters Church, Birstall which I purchased from Huddersfield FHS.

Sorry, no further info in this booklet, but hope this helps you a little.

Thanks for that.  Residence is a match as well so sounds like a good match.  Many thanks for looking it up for me.

I reckon I'm going to have to start getting some of these indexes. Always a bit hard parting with the money with the exchange rates
