Harkess father & son and crew drown 1892

Hi my mother-in-law was a Harkess from Port Seton. I believe her dad was a fisherman named James and her  mother was named Christine (Chrissie) . She has three siblings, Charles (Charlie), Alex & James (Jim). Perhaps she's related?

Hi MLV,

I have had a look at my tree and I think Jim Harkess's father was Alexander Harkess, who was the youngest child of the James Harkess who drowned in 1892.

Alexander Harkess (b 1890 d 1960) married Rosina Lister ( b 1893 d 1961), could this be the grandparents of your mother in law?

I can tell you about the family as it exist now.My Grandfather and Grandmother were Jim and Chrissie if that helps any.
