Hi, sorry I keep forgetting there is more than one James in the story. If I can start with Grace Gallagher Bn @1846, according to 1851 census return. Her Father was James Gallagher, siblings of Grace Mary bn @ 1844, Dominick bn @ 1851, James, Jeremiah, and Frank, my g grandfather. Two other children John and Pat twins Bn @1848 survived only 3 months.

The next generation under Frank Gallagher includes a son James Gallagher born @ 1882, he arrived in NY in April 1910, he is documented as leaving from Burtonport, on the same voyage as two other males of similar age, and I am making a leap of faith in assuming that they travelled together if not they at least knew each other, they were a Manus Bonner and a Patrick Ward aged around 23yrs, I willcheck with my bits of paper and see what address the Ward male was travelling to,it is possible that they wrote the wrong name on the manifest.

There is another Ward connection to the Gallagher family through the wife of the above Frank Gallagher.

I appreciate that this is a public forum however I would be happier to pass on more information if there some way of contacting you by email. If you are happy that we are talking about the same family then would you consider trying to connect outside this forum.
