John  Bardsley  was my grandfather. He is buried in a church graveyard in Worsley/ Walkden ,near Bolten  in Lancs in England. I haven't been there is decades,so don't know if it still exists. It is an Anglican church. What do you want to know?I can't really see how you could be related.

As I said he is only a distant relative - my grandfather's mother was a Bardsley and my grandfather knew John.  I only knew of John's existence as my grandfather kept a newspaper cutting about his death.  I'd assumed as John and family were living in New York when he died that he would have been buried there, so it is quite a surprise to hear that his body was taken home to Walkden.
I understand his wife was Mary Ann Howarth and they had 3 children: John, Mary (Mollie) and James.  The Bardsley family are quite interesting and I have quite a bit of info about them but I often wondered what happened to John's wife and children after he died so young.  Had he lived he would no doubt have become even more famous. As far as I know my branch of the Bardsley family lost contact with John's immediate family after his death so I'd be grateful for any info you have about John and especially his family after his death.
