I have a feeling it is quite contagious because I think
I might have caught it.

How long does it last?

No known cure - I've only been suffering about 6 weeks and have a class one case.

I think that the only thing to do is to wait as long as you possibly can manage before going on line each morning - at least until after breakfast - and if you try very hard you can push it forward a little bit every day - after dishes - after bed making - not until coffe time -

However, it does take an enormous effort, and here I am today - washing machine on, oven in pieces in the sink, dinner out of the freezer - but I'm still in my dressing gown because - I'm 100% addicted!

I've had it for about 12 months but didn't like to admit it ::).  Still not found a cure but you never know!  OH is not amused!

Hi!

There is no known cure! On the few occasions that Rootschat has been offline, we addicts have been sitting staring at "page cannot be displayed" for hours on end, waiting for it to come back on so we can get a fix! Then there has been an enormous sigh of relief as everyone exchanges stories of how they filled in their time, like er, housework  ;D
Best wishes, Judy :-))

I've been doing some statistics...
Of all the people I know 47.3% are into family history.
Of those, 89.7% are addicted.
Of all the people I know 3 are into housework.
Of those, .02% are addicted.
Of all the people I know 2 are into statistics.
Of those, .1% are addicted.
Interesting.

If my mother was still living, and you knew her, you could add her to the .02% addicted to housework  :) - her recommended solution to every known problem was to suggest scrubbing the kitchen floor - One could definintely eat off her floors  ;D

She was into family history too - I inherited that addiction  ;D

Amused by the housework comments - my mum has been known to say "I wasn't put here to do housework - it's not creative" ;D ;D and "A quick flick is better than no flick" ;D ;D
She was interested in family history but not so much these days - she feels she is getting closer to becoming a statistic.  She doesn't appreciate me telling her about any family skeletons on her side. ;)

Cheers
