Hi,

yes it's worth a try, but it's very thin.  :(

At the moment we don't know when or where he died; All we have is a Post Restante address, which implies that although he was in or near Syke in 1920, he wasn't a permanent resident.

could you tell me how much info the german death cert has . is it much the same as our english death cert
i'm not sure how this  will  help me  tracing fritz

Hello Ann,

as Fritz (Friedrich a name who was used mostly in Prussia) gives a Post Restante address it's possible that he was on his way to England. He might just have stayed in Syke to wait for a passage.

Do you know this site?  http://biggislist.genealogy.net/ , it's also in English. You can search  some Ortsbücher on-line  (on-line heritage books).

i'm not sure whether fritz ever came to england. his daughter wilhelmina did ,she is on census 1881 she married in 1887 her father is named on the marriage cert ,but did he attend
