Thanks everyone
the first time my son had this experience he was only about two and a half
the second he was about ten
but the reason I posted this last night was
I was sitting here myself because of meniere's I was unable to sleep everyone else had gone to bed
I thought I had dozed off and dreamt this
I was reading on of the posts on here but the laptop screen started rolling I tried to switch it off
but it wouldn't go off it just flick pages but the weird thing was it ended up on my pictures
and it was the picture of my mum I had restored on here
It didn't scare me it just made me feel as though my mum was there watching me because I wasn't
feeling very well and it was her way of telling me she was there
I am glad you baby was ok 4kni and I am sure your mum will watch over your new baby too

When I was younger we lived in an old vicarage, my dad was a builder not a vicar  though. My bedroom was on the third floor.

When I was fourteen, my friend was staying one night, and we were both sitting up in bed reading magazines.  She was sitting on the left of me, and I felt a tap on my right shoulder.  I looked up and said "What?" thinking she was messing about.  She looked at me as though I was stupid.  When I said somebody had tapped me, and she said it wasn't her, neither of us got much sleep that night :o :o

I used to see shadows up there as well in corners.  If I was coming down the stairs, I often saw a shadow halfway down the stairs, and there was nothing there when I got to it.

I would like to think that people do come back to watch over us

I am sure that there is only a thin line between this world and the next.

Some people are much more sensitive than others. One of my great aunts could have been described as a medium( for want of a better description) From a small child she used to embarrass her family by blurting out facts about neighbors. As she got older , she used her gift but as a  controlled fortune telling.

As a child I can still remember wanting to "go Home" and this world was Not where I should be.

My daughters have often experienced the presence of my Mother, often when they have problems or decisions to make.

Ghosts are ,I believe can be disturbed spirits, but more often our loved ones ,concerned about our welfare.

I can't explain it, but there is something out there.

I have on a number of occasions sensed the presence of my parents by my bedside after I have gone to bed.  Haven't seen them - just a warm presence in a glow of light, and I know they are watching over me.

The most vivid experience was a few years ago, after the father of one of my school friends died.  He was a Presbyterian minister, and a lovely, lovely man.  One evening I was out watering the garden - not thinking about him at all! - and suddenly he appeared in front of me.  He was looking at me and smiling his warm smile, and he said, "I'm keeping an eye out for you too, pet!"  Then he faded away.  These were exactly the kind of words he used, and I knew that he was watching over both his daughter and me.

hmmm I share a house with one, so yep I guess i do

OH thought I was off my tiny one until he started taking the brunt of its jokes!

so far someone has poured water on the bed, only on OH side ( and yes the kids have been threatened with death it was one of them)
cd's have gone missing only to turn up in very strange places
the worst was an old sewing needle turned up stuck in OH arm after I left the room! When he went to show me it, it had moved to the other side of the room.

Now I just yell at it to quit, things go quiet for a few months, then he tries again.
the Last threat was he will pay rent if he doesnt pack the pranks in.

We had a ghost in our house for years.

I'd see her out of the corner of my eye but as I turned she'd disappear.

My son would hear someone walking up the stairs and expect to see me appear at his bedroom door, but there was never anyone there.

I never saw the ghost clearly yet I have no doubt it was a short lady.

There has only ever been one previous owner of the house - she was a first World War widow and lived here for 50 years, with her children.

I haven't seen her for years now - I like to think she was happy with the way we were looking after her home and felt she could move on.

I don't usually tell people about this because some would think I'd lost the plot, but I swear it's true.

although I haven't actually seen any sightings of ghosts myself
I would never ridicule anyone there have also been other incidents in
my family
my granddaughter was playing in her room when her mum shouted on her
she replied I am in my room having a tea party with granda Dan
dad had been dead about two years
I dont know about this one wether it was only an imaginary friend or something else
my three year old grandson had just started nursery one day when he was picked up
he told us his name wasn't Joseph it was James this went on for days
he would say his name was James McPhail and he lived in heaven because he had
fell
sorry for given you the shivers Pipkim
and thanks to everyone else for their experiences
I think we all need someone who believes to listen
the ones who dont just think we are  going off our rockers
