Hi,
It depends what you are hoping to achieve as to which one you use. They do completely different things.
Findmypast enables you to search databases such as censuses, BDMs, immigration records etc.
Genes Reunited enables you to establish contact with people who have the same name/s in their family tree as in yours.
Perhaps you were thinking of findmypast and ancestry? Both have similar databases.
No contest. It has to be find my past.Genes Reunited is far more expensive
I must say though, I am a bit confused by Isy's comment on the price. I am in Australia, so only have the AUD price for GR and that is $20 for 12 months (about £9 on current exchange rates).
Findmypast starts at £14.95 for 30 days and the annual subscriptions are £64.95 and £89.95 depending on the package.
I'm not implying that there isn't value in the findmypast packages, just that the comment seemed misleading to me.
(For comparison purposes, a current annual UK subscription on ancestry (UK) is £79.95).
