1881- Charles RUGG
« on: Monday 07 January 08 18:19 GMT (UK) »
Hi there

I am looking for Charles Rugg bp 1857 Bridgwater, Somerset.

Parents: Thomas and Jane.

He is on the 1861 with his parents and siblings:
RG9/1624 Folio 149 Page 4

He is on the 1871 with his parenst and siblings
RG10/2386 Folio 75 Page 17

I cannot find a death for him, and cannot find him on the 1881  Census.

Can you please help?

Many thanks
Gillianr

there is a death of a charles rugg born abt. 1858 death registered in 1887 in bridgewater.
qtr. jul/aug/sep. vol. 5c. page 255.
of course that does'nt help with trying to find him in 1881.

Hi Wozzle
Thanks for your input, at least I have a possibler death,
but you are right, it does not help to find him on the 1881.
I am wondering if he is under the name BUGG, as that
could be misinterpreted for RUGG don't you think?

I will check that out later

Once again
many thanks
Gillianr

maybe you could search using first name and date of birth -+2 and place of birth if nothing comes up you could widen it by putting in county instead of place
surname could be transcribed as ross, boss, russ, rogg, lugg. really could be anything.

Hi Folks

Thanks for your help, but I had already found Eliza on the 1881 with the Green family, abd as you say, there are a number of different spellings for Rugg, but I will take your advise and do what you suggest as to a different way of searching.

Cheers to you both
Gill

Hi,

I have a Charles Rugg born to William and Mary RUGG abt 1858.  They were living at Bath during the 1861 census but I believe they moved back to the Walcot, Trinity, Somerset by 1871.

Do not have any info after that.

Hi  Merle
Thanks for your input, but the Charles Rugg you found, is not mine.

Thanks for your help anyway
