Veron,
I have just been trying to do what you suggested, I'm Lookng for Mallard b 1893, to do that, I click on .s, to the right of Search, then keep selecting from the "Submit Query", but then eventually I arrive at 1893, view images A-Z then I had to guess from the list of numbers where my image should be, is that right? or is there a quicker way, took me ages to find the right scan ::)
Newbie

why when I typed"view images" does it alter it to .s???

Yes Newbie, that is the right way  :-\ .... but I found that's once you've done it for one quarter, if you make a note of which page contained the names you were looking for, then pick something similar next time round - it gets you a lot nearer. The first one always takes much longer. It helps to be doing something else at the same time!  ;)

And I don't know why "view images" turns to .s either, that's what I was trying to do before.

Veron, okay, thanks for the explanation, I should have written the number down then! ;D
I think the text is converted because of its content must be a command instruction or something,  but putting it in the inverted commas, fooled it!

For those with Ancestry subscriptions they are now beta testing the whole of the BMD indexes with a search engine however the down side is you have to know the year.  I don't see how that is going to help people when its a birth year they search for but hey ho its something new

I'm sure the turnaround target used to be 4 working days for despatch of certificates-the last lot I got now says 6 working days. If you have more than one to order, do them separately. The latest message is that, due to demand, they will send out the first cert requested on multiple requests (presumably that meets some service standard) but others will be to follow

I suppose it's that TV programme again, that we have to thank for longer waiting times.  No I am not complaining, I think it's great that it has such an influence on people and they all start delving into their family histories.
