deaths of Percy and Harriett Pettitt
« on: Monday 31 December 07 21:38 GMT (UK) »
My g-g-grandfather was Percy Pettitt. He was born in 1853 Warbleton, Sussex.  My g-g-grandma was Harriett Pettitt, nee Brook Foster.  She was born in 1853 Warbleton, Sussex.  At the time of their deaths, I believe they lived in Tonbridge.  This is according to a book I have on my g-grandfather.  I have come to learn that the book is full of a few white lies.
I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me when my g-g-grandparents died.  Is there a way to find out where they are burried?

Cheryl :)

Hi Cheryl,

Do you know roughly when your 2xgtgrandparents died?  Have you found them on 1901 census?

nanny jan,

Someone has found the 1901 census for me.  The Pettitt's  are listed with their children Annie, Emily, Herbert, Julia, and William J.
My grandfather never talked about family at all.  So nobody was interested in family info until I came along.  I don't have a clue about when they may have died.

Hi Cheryl,

Do you have any marriage certifcates for the children that might show Percy as deceased or either Percy or Harriett as a witness?   Might help to narrow down the search window.

The only marriage certificate I have is that of my g-grandfather, Albert Edward Pettitt.  He was married in Manitoba, Canada.
I believe that George died very young.  He was not mentioned in my g-grandfather's book.  The only other statement about his siblings, was that some of the girls, moved to New York, USA.

Percy and Harriet were still alive in 1923 as they are named as NoK on NYC Passenger Lists for Ellen, and also Julia in 1922.
