I'm not sure if you're still looking for info on the Strachans.I checked out freecen & found this;1841 -St.Fergus Village
Robert,50,Chris,50,George 8 all born in Banffshire & Robert's job was an Ag.Lab. In 1851 they're still in the same place.Robert 60,Brickmaker,born Longside,Christian(wife)61,born Aberdour,Agnes daughter,25,born St.Fergus,John Hay,grandson,1,born St.Fergus George,son,18,Ag.Lab also born St.Fergus.There are also 2 lodgers Margaret & Catherine Willox age 6 & 3,both born in Inverness.Agnes was working on the farm of Pitenheath as a female servant in the 1841 census.
Also in 1841 was Jane Strachan,a female servant at Inverugie age 35.She's still there in 1851 as a house servant, born in Peterhead. As all these people are in the parish of St.Fergus I have mentioned them.I've saved the best till last! 1841 Blackhill,John Strachan,70,Crofter,born Banffshire.
also in the house was a servant,Isabella Smith age 50 & also born in Banffshire.I'm assuming he's widowed as there's no mention of his wife Christian Murray.
