Hello

I'm doing a bit of 'housekeeping' and noticed this rather old request.

Are you still looking for the information?  If so, please provide any additional information you have which may assist a successful lookup.

Regards
Jonathan

Yes I am still Looking for information, On Thomas Crook and family, All I know is that in 1842 the Family was living on Coduit Street Westminster. In 1851  Alfred Crook was born in Tottenham to James and Harriett Burgess Crook.
The Family "stories" claim that James Crook was killed While serving in the military but have not been able to confirm that .
the information I have on Thomas is scarce, After 1842 I do not have anything.
James Crook wife living in Tottenham in 1861 with Children Alfred and Edward and niece Elizabeth Matthews.
Any info would be of GREAT HELP
Thank You Mary

Hello

1851 - Kings Road, Tottenham (it's difficult to know the steet name as it is poorly enumerated but thin it's Kings Road)

Harriet Crook, Widow, 30, Laundress, b. Somerset Ti? (think it might be Tiverton but there is a pen mark across it)
Alfred, son, 1, b. Tottenham
Harriet, dau, 9?, b. London Middlesex

HO107/1702
Folio: 452
Page: 40

Not sure if that helps.

Hello
I am not sure if I am Posting in the right Place.
Some Children that show up in the 1861 Census for this Family are not listed in the 1851.
Was it a unusual for children to live with other family members?
Mary

Hi Mary

Not that unusual.

If you post the names, birth years and birthplaces I'll have a look for them if you like to see what I can find.

Hello Jonathan
You are Quick !! :)
In The 1861 Census Harriett has another child Edward B. 1847, St. George Hanover Square.
Also I am not Sure about this one. But This Family came to the U.S in 1865.
In the same county of Ohio lived John Crook B. London Middlesex 1844.
I have found this  same John J. Crook moving to the same Pa. County as  Alfred Crook in 1881.
I have found John J. Crook"s civil war record and on this record he is also known as John J. Burgess. Burgess is Harriet Crook's maiden name.  Do you know of any reason why he would use his Mothers surname.
Thanks
Mary
