Rebecca divorced in 1930 and her husband married Phyllis Lavinia MITCHELL aged 30 in 1936,Sydney NSW.

Phyllis was daughter of William Joseph MITCHELL and Sarah MITCHELL nee NUGENT and was born Katoomba,NSW

Phyllis Lavinia divorced in 1939 and married Alexander McMillan BICKERTON from Katoomba in 1940

Could Phyllis Lavinia MITCHELL be a niece of Rebecca NUGENT ??

Rebecca had a brother - James Henry NUGENT who died Fremantle Western Australia June 7th 1895 aged 24...beloved son of Henry & Susan NUGENT.

Birthplace & date of birth for Rebecca & Henry James NUGENT unknown !

There's also a John Thomas Nugent on the NSW deaths - 1944 - who lists his parents as Henry and Susan.

www.familysearch.org shows in Ancestral File:
Susan Gourlay, b. 1841 Ireland, died NSW in 1900, married Henry Nugent 1869 in NZ.  Children listed for them include your Rebecca and a Sarah Nugent born 1880 and married William Joseph Mitchell.

There are two submitters (presumably relatives) listed for this file - you could try contacting them to find out which sources they used to compile the tree.

There may be a record of the family arriving from NZ which could list all the children - it may be easier to find if you have an approx date - which could be found on a death certificate for Susan or Henry. Susan's death certificate may give her parents, as an additional help.

Hello, I have just discovered this 'RootsChat' post.
Phyllis Lavinia Bickerton (nee Roberts,nee Mitchell) was my Aunt, my father was Albert Sydney Mitchell, a brother to Phyllis. (Did she marry her Uncle- James Henry Roberts ?!!!)
My Grandmother Sarah Mitchell (nee Nugent) was born 6th June 1880, Ross, South Island, New Zealand.
Her brother James Henry Nugent was born was born 27th October 1870, Ross, South Island, New Zealand. Other siblings to Sarah & James:

Your aunt Phyllis married James Henry ROBERTS in 1936 NSW.

He had previously married Rebecca Nugent in 1906 NSW

James & Rebecca had a son b circa 1908.

Your grandmother was a sister of Rebecca.

James Henry NUGENT died 1895 (Typhoid)
