No, sorry, no Milne's unless there's a marriage somewhere that I haven't followed through.  Just in case there's a mutual crossover, it's worth mentioning I've got Balharry, Hendry, Duthie, Illingworth, Waterston and Barrie as my main folks.

Thanks for that, I'll pm you now - my tree is on Genes if that's any help to anyone, let me know and I'll pm you the details.  I don't yet know where my Findlays originate, although Mum seems to think it's Kincardine, but I haven't explored beyond my g-grandfather yet and he was born Ayr.

You mentioned John Duthie, born about 1780 in Fetteresso/Dunnottar. Was he baptised on 16 Oct 1778 in Fetteresso and again on 26 Oct 1778 in Dunnottar? Son of William Duthie in Arduthie?

I believe this could be my John Duthie who became a hairdresser in Aberdeen. He married Bathia Duthie, daughter of John Duthie and Bathia Fyfe.

Any connections?

I am amazed.  I had never heard of picasaweb but the information that you you posted was fascinating.  I could see lots of my relatives on the Cookney school roll.  My Findlays are from Brucewells and Upper Backburn but I do have one Findlay married to a Spark.

I don't suppose you have a picture of Brucewells in your collection do you?  I believe it is still standing.

To be honest, I'm not sure is the answer to your questions!  I have John Duthie born c 1780, poss Kincardine, married to Elisabeth Herd ~ I have a variety of  question marks and 'double check' notes against this as I've yet to confirm this particular marriage.  This couple (as I presently have them) had 3 children:  John, Charles and Ann.  I need to spend more time focussing on this branch.

Very interesting. I'm glad that someone saved the pages from the school registers. Is there any way that I can size up the pages from the family tree book that John wrote?
I also noted that you are researching Milnes', I have many Milnes' in my tree, maybe we have a connection there through one of them.
