Yes yes yes he was a draper on the birth certificate you clever thing. How exciting

I am looking forward to this evening and telling Marjory about it
i will send for the marriage certificate

Poor Sarah Price she seems to have been left with three boys in three years, perhaps her sister gave up her dressmaking to help , as the one thing that Marge (m in law) remembers is that he was brought up by Aunt Ginnie where were the other boys?  Harry s lloyd (Known as Stan) and gilbert t Lloyd ( remembered as Gill)

I am writing this all out to show Marj and Mary (her older sister)

Thankyou all loads

Hi Squilery

That sounds promising.  ;D

In 1901 Harry Lloyd 19 b Cwmbran Monmouthshire, occupation 'Assistant in School' is a boarder in the household of William Hood, Schoolmaster at 64 Lordship Road, Stoke Newington, London.

RG13/205 F32 P56
~~~~~~~~-
Found this entry in Wales 1901 for Gilbert P Lloyd, although the initial P is not clear, it could well be S.
RG13/5031 F31 P8
9 Park Terrace, Upper Myrthyr Tydfil
Henry Parfitt 50, Boilermaker & Engineer, b Beaufort Brecon
Jane M 5?, b Ebbw Vale
Alfred 16, Steam Engine Fitter, b Ebbw Vale
Thomas W Lloyd 53, BIL, single, Clerk in Engineers Office, b Ebbw Vale
Gilbert P? Lloyd 18, Half Bro, Ironmongers Apprentice, b Cwbran Monmouthshire
+ Elizabeth Richards 17, Servant
I wonder if he is half brother to Henry Parfitt or Thomas Lloyd.  :-\
I was intrigued as to who Gilbert was half brother to so checked earlier census.
1871 RG10\5325 F30 P24-25
Victoria Road, Bedwelty
Thos Lloyd 49, Draper, b Llanadog Carm
Margaret 53, Brecon
Thos W 23, Drapers Assist, Victoria, Monmouthshire
Jane M 21, Dressmaker, Ebbw Vale
1861 RG9/4005 F67 P30
Spencer St., Bedwelty
Thomas Lloyd 38, Draper & Grocer, b Llangadock, Carm
Margaret 43, b Brecon
Thomas W 13, b Ebbw Vale
Jane 11, b Ebbw Vale
So, it looks as though Gilbert was half brother to Thomas Lloyd and in 1901 they were both visiting sister Jane.
Margaret must have died between 1871/81and Thomas snr married Sarah Price
Hope this helps.
Have you traced back the mother-in-law, Elizabeth PRICE b Llangammarch?
Probably the following family?
In Builth in all censuses; all children b Builth.  Husband is Isaac, b Llangartten - a roadman/labourer.
1871
Isaac 60, Elizabeth 55, Lloyd 14 (Clerk Weighing Machine)
Four households away is the following PRICE household!
William, Son(!), 31, Painter; Martha, Daughter(!), 29, Milliner & Dressmaker; Sarah, Daughter(!), 26, Milliner & Dressmaker - all unmarried and all born Builth.
1861
Isaac 51, Elizabeth 46 (a Tollgate Keeper), Martha 19 (Dressmaker), Henry 13, Thomas 9, Charles 7, Lloyd 4
1851
Isaac 40, Elizabeth 37, John 14 (Errand Boy), William 10, Martha 8, Isaac 7, Sarah 5, Henry 3, Elizabeth 1
1841
Isaac 30, Elizabeth 25, John 5, William 2
In 1881, together in Builth are Martha 36 (Dressmaker & Milliner), brother Lloyd 24 (Writing Clerk Railway) and nephew Henry PRICE 9 all b Builth.
Hi
I am the Great Grandson of the Lloyd (Jones) Price mentioned by JAP in this post.
.........
Probably the following family?
In Builth in all censuses; all children b Builth.  Husband is Isaac, b Llangartten - a roadman/labourer.
1871
Isaac 60, Elizabeth 55, Lloyd 14 (Clerk Weighing Machine)
...
In 1881, together in Builth are Martha 36 (Dressmaker & Milliner), brother Lloyd 24 (Writing Clerk Railway) and nephew Henry PRICE 9 all b Builth.
I would be interested in receiving PMs from others researching the descendants of Isaac Price and Elizabeth Price (nee Jones).
Thanks
William Price
Hello. Thomas Lloyd was first married to Margaret Williams and they lived in Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire Wales. They had two children: Thomas Williams Lloyd b. 5-22-1847 Victoria Iron Works, Ebbw Vale and Jane Maria Lloyd b. 8-31-1849 Ebbw Vale. WT never married. Jane M. married Henry Parfitt. In the 1901 census Gilbert P. Lloyd (half brother) and a brother of Ewart Trevor Lloyd was living with them in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire, Wales.
Thomas was a draper. He was baptized 9-29-1822 Carregswthey, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire Wales. His parents were William Lloyd and Jane "Jennie" Roberts. His family immigrated to the USA in 1847. He was the only one to stay in Wales. Both parents and they youngest brother, Benjamin, died on the same day in 1849 of cholera, leaving William T. (b. 1829), David W. (b. 1832 and my gggrandfather), Anna S. (b. 1834), Robert (b. 1836), Mariah E. (b. 1839), Margaret I. (b. 1844) and Joseph (b. 1845). All the siblings lived with their older brother in Portsmouth, OH.
