Any ideas when this might have been taken?
« on: Friday 14 December 07 12:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Just been sent another photo. This one is of Hannah Carver nee Saunders wife of the gentleman on the left. She was born in 1862. Any guesses as to when it was taken?
Thank you in anticipation
Jan ;)

Hello Jan,

I would say , the photo was taken in the late 1880's early 1890's , but do wait for the experts for a better date.

Thanks for your thoughts Jim.

I was thinking she was probably in her 20's. She married in 1893 but I'm thinking this was before then, not sure though. It's puzzling me what she was doing in London - Hannah lived in Luton and as far as I can gather the family never had much money so wouldn't have been taking trips to London. And the dress looks as if it would have cost a bit - very strange ???

jc

ps I think might have been taken c1905-8  but thats only a guess :-\ I'm sure OR or China can give you a more detailed date estimate

nice scan, even though it is only 96dpi, its not compressed and is big!
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.
