Hi Lynne,
Pleased to meet you, cousin. I thought you may have much of the info as there seems to be plenty of it on the Web through various sources. Ayla has been in touch with info for me which is much closer to home and I didn't know it!!!
I have screeds of early Scottish info through the old website put on by Chuck Moneypenny in the USA and passed on to me by my niece back in about 1997 but I seem to come to a dead end with David and his migration from Ireland. I had thought that Matthew and David could be cousins. All the families seemed to lack imagination as far as naming their children and the same names crop up again and again in each generation. Mary Moneypenny, daughter of David and Elizabeth was baptised at a place called Brown's Meeting House near Armagh and William Henry was christened at Muhlabrach Church, also somewhere near Armagh in 1844.
This information was passed on by letter to my grandfather, Leontes (Leonard) here in Australia in 1914 by Mary Ball's son, Robert, when the family was trying to trace a William Moneypenny who died here, supposedly dying intestate. They were unsuccessful, but I have found him since.
I have only returned to reseaching after holidays but will keep you posted if I come across anything further.
Noela
