Looking for McClintock's
« on: Sunday 02 January 05 12:59 GMT (UK) »
I have traced my family tree back to a John McClintock born 22 Jan 1842 in Ireland Donegal.  He immagrated to Aust and Married Magaret Diwel.  I know his parents are David McClintock and Sarah McClintock (nee Crawford) but that's as far as I get.  Any hints, tips etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

The D. L after the name of R. McClintock of Dunmore House means he was a Deputy Lieutenant. In this case he was a D.L. for Co. Donegal. A Deputy Lieutenant deputised for the Lord Lieutenant who was a representative in a specific county for the reigning Monarch of the Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland.

Hello, I found Daniel McClintock and David McClintock in Ardagh in the parish of Taughboyne, co. Donegal.  David is letting 33 acres from the Marquis of Abercorn in 1857.  Good luck.

Hello Rel,

There was a man named David McClintock of Toberoneill, Clonleigh, Co. Donegal mentioned in Griffiths Valuation of Ireland in 1857 when the Valuation took place in Co. Donegal. http://www.failteromhat.com

Best Wishes, Christopher
