Deb
As suggested I have posted a request on the look up request board.
I will try again to contact the parties I know to have an interest in the Charles Harry/Mary Nancarrow line. There must be lots of secrets.

Since I have been researching (on my mothers side),I discovered a cousin who I had not known previously.Family secrets.

I have lots on the Wellingtons as someone had already completed a substantial family history. From memory I don't think they came from Austell.

My grandparents large family (at least 15) would have been raised in early settlers accomodation (tents or humpies).Mosted started school at 2 or 3 years.

I have just noticed that Elizabeth Ann Wellington was born C1847/9 St Buryan. Her parents were Richard Wellington and Caroline Jane Matthews who married 1838 Sancreed.
The family including Elizabeth aged 2 show up on the 1851 Census at Poolpenpenna St Buryan. The family came to Australia as assisted immigrants 1858 on "Sea Park".Elizabeth was only 17 when she married John Hammer Harry in 1865.?? I suppose there is a chance the families new each other.

Good morning Deb
With regard to the Wellingtons, not sure what you have but Richard Wellington 1813-1875 born St Buryan, married in Sancreed in 1838 by Banns Caroline Jane Matthews, the daughter of William and Nannie Matthews.
Caroline and five children (Wellington) including Elizabeth Ann bC1849 who was to marry John Hammer Harry.
The Wellingtons obviously moved around a lot, following the goldfields, but some of the children lived their lives out in El Dorado which was where my gret grandparents raised their 15 children.
I have a book on the residents of El Dorado.
Did you find them in 1851?

I spent some time yesterday transcribing the 1763 Will of John Harry gentleman. It mentions his wife Margaret and a son Richard. It speaks of his estate in Lower Am------ (can't read),also looks like John Webbers tenement.
Can't be sure but I think this John Harry married 25.7.1725 St Mabyn,Mrs Margaret Hamley.I think she might have been a widow. They had children Jane 1727,Diana 1728 John 1730,William 1732,Elizabeth 1735 and Richard 1740.Only Richard is mentioned in the Will.

No luck yet on the look up board.

Hi again

Rex ... you said that Caroline and Richard had 5 children ...I see 6 in 1851... did only 5 go to Australia? they had 7 children , all told , when including little Mary (b 1841).

I see on IGI that there are a few children born to William and ANN Matthews (parents of Caroline Matthews)...I think that the name Ann and Nancy/Nannie were interchangeable in those days ....

will look further
