Hi Rex

Christmas is done for another year ...phew thank goodness  :D

I have been trying to find William Wellington in the 1841 census. Just to recap ...in 1841 Richard and Caroline Wellington had 2 children with them ...Richard 2 and Mary 1month. William should have been with them as he is 11 in 1851.  (by the way the age of Mary in 1851, 9, still puzzles me!)

I have found a stray William Wellington aged 10 months in St Winnow. He is with a Thomas Burt?, 20 and Catherine Burt? aged 3.

will search further ... maybe he is under his middle name Matthews ... :-\

Good morning Deb
Still very early here.I will try to sort the Wellington/Matthews situation out from the data I have.

Are you convinced that we have connected up my William Harry/Philippa Lynam with Charles Harry/Mary Nancarrow group?
The Harris name (= Rebecca Cleeve) is off putting but doesn't explain John Harey bpt 22 Sep 1735 St Kew.

I would love to determine where John Harry/Margaret Hamley fit in.

I do have some other Wills:
1851 Philippa Harry (nee Thomas),widow of Richard Harry s/o Matthew Harry and Elizabeth Benallic.Apparently Richard and Philippa did not have children as the sole beneficiary is Susanna Hicks.

1849 Will of Richard Harry (refer above)  tailor and general shopkeeper.

1764 Bond of Richard Harry re his wife Ann (nee Lobb).

1624 William Harry  ? Latin and/or old English

1676 John Harry
Wyatt and Wood of Glossop, Derbyshire. Longstaff of Bishop Auckland,Durham. Harry of St Austell and St Kew,Cornwall. Charters of County Antrim.Knight of Warwickshire.Hendy of Ballyedmonduff.

hi Rex
.
The parents of Richard b1813 St Buryan were Peter Wellington born Luxulian 1777,died Sancreed 1871 and Joan Harvey who died St Buryan 1854.They married 1807 and had 10 children.

I am a little confused here as In 1851, Peter Wellington is the head of house , where Richard and Caroline are staying with their children . In 1851 Peter says he is a widow... but you say Joan , his wife only dies in 1854. therefore Joan should still be with him in 1851...
 :-\

I am still trying to figure out the Harry connection ... LOL ...

Also the will is quite difficult to read ... I went through the 1841 census for st Kew ...hoping to spot a place name that would look something like the estate name ... no luck with that either... will keep trying to decypher it

geezzzz Rex ...I am confused again LOL ;D ;D

We have Philippa Lynam nee Hicks marries a Harry. her will dated 1746.
Then you have a will (1851) of a Philippa Harry nee Thomas leaving everything to a Susanna Hicks.

Is this a coincidence?

Deb
I can't vouch for Philippa Lynam Harry being nee Hicks.Speculation only at this stage.
I think the other Philippa Harry was nee Thomas, widow of Richard Harry who was a shopkeeper and tailor.
The 1851 Census Highway Village St Kew shows:
Philppa Harry 76 widow  grocer
Susanna Hicks 43 married house servant
Both born St Kew

In 1853 there was an "Admion" granted to John Hicks, husband of Susanna Hicks deceased.Philippa Harry (nee Thomas) had died 11.2.1853.
Susanna (deceased) was the sole executrix named in Philippa's Will but Susanna had died.
Wyatt and Wood of Glossop, Derbyshire. Longstaff of Bishop Auckland,Durham. Harry of St Austell and St Kew,Cornwall. Charters of County Antrim.Knight of Warwickshire.Hendy of Ballyedmonduff.
