My sincere condolences to Peter's family.  It must be a source of great comfort to them to know that Peter was held in such high esteem and with such affection by the RootsChatters he has helped so graciously over the years.

My condolences to Peters family.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference into your tone, wear no forced
air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes
we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it
always was, let it be spoken without effect, without
a shadow of a ghost in it. Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is no unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
just around the corner........  All is well.

What very sad news.  Peter will be sadly missed by us all and I hope his family will be able to draw strength from the knowledge that he had so many friends on RootsChat.

I am very sorry indeed to learn of the sad - and sudden for us - passing of Peter.

Not having Cheshire ancestors or connexions, I had very little to do with Peter.

Though I do recall a bit of a "run in" with Peter in his role as a Moderator.  He was polite - though not uncritical - and stuck to his guns.  We agreed to disagree - but good on him!!  I'm sure that you who are Peter's family know him as a man of principle, a very courteous man, and one who always held to his principles.  A good man.

I'm sorry to hear about his death, and I send my condolences to his family. Its always a shame when someone dies, but there is always a silver lining, and that is that his family, his friends and this forum had the good luck to know him.
