I have a number of Rance's in the Rickmansworth area.
Rebecca Rance, christened 19/06/1831 daughter of Solomon Rance & Eliza Abbott.
Married first to Henry Sears in 1854 and in 1880 to John Sills.
Any connection?

My G-G-Grandmother was Jane RANCE, born in 1813 in Stevenage to William RANCE and Elizabeth PIGGOT. She married Benjamin ANSELL on 30th April in Stevenage. On some records the name is spelt RUNCE. Witnesses to the wedding were William and Sarah ANSELL.
I have no other information on the RANCE family as I have been researching the ANSELLs and this is difficult from Lancashire where the name became HANSELL.
Good luck

My apologies for butting in here - Pauline I have the Piggot family as well in Herts. Unfortunately mine are back in the 1400-1600's but they must be connected somewhere along the line.

Lady Di and Our Kid ........
As you may proberly gather being a Rance I also have plenty of Piggotts and Ansells in my family tree and if i do say so myself there are an awful lot of these three families at the time living in Stevenage they must of taken up the whole town....
