Thank you. I think you are right. Looks like my husband broke the mould in not becaoming a seaman as his father and his grandfather were and now his great grandfather.You've solved a mystery for me and now I can get on tracing my husbands family.

Charles Henry Edwards born Devonport is my ancestor. His son, of the same name, born abt 1877 my records show he died in 1882.
