I don't know if the offer still stands. I'm looking for a charles black sometime between 1808 and 1855. last seen in spott in 1808

Dear Lynn (Spacot),

Can you help me out as you generously did last year? I am looking for the burials of the Black family, mainly from the Innerwick, Stenton and Dunbar areas. I have the following names and dates:

Archibald Black (b. 1787)
son of Charles Black (dates unknown) and Jean Hogg (b. 1755)

Archibald is likely to have died between 1859 and 1896, so likely won't be mentioned unless he was buried with his parents. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Dear Lynn again,

I apologise for posting so soon after my last message, but I have since found that Archibald died after 1855 in Prestonkirk, so therefore won't be mentioned in the books you have. Charles died in Dunbar in 1823 (after re-marrying) but I still don't have a death date for Jean Hogg. Can I ask again for any info. you might find on her? Thank you. :)

Not that I want to detract from this thread's value, but in case you don't get a reply from Lynn (Spacot), who was last online in August, you could always check East Lothian burial records at http://freereg.rootsweb.com/. I've always found them quite complete and accurate, although they do advise you check the original register. Hopefully you will find your families there. :)

I havee had a look for youe Archibald and found nothind, however the MI`s for Dunbar have not yet been published, I have been assured they are in the pipe line, so hopefully better luck next year, remind me next easter, should have a copy by then
