since you are on a roll any chance you can find a Thomas Paton in the 1851 census.
This is the Thomas married to Jean Templeton .Born Muirkirk 1820. I think I have him with 2 sons in Lesmahagow in 1841 but no wife.age is a bit of. This is where I lose him .( just to confuse the issue it looks like Thomas's mother was also called Jane Templeton) don't want to send you fo on a different tack but you seem to be able to track things down . cheers Miska.
