Frame Carluke

Help needed please
A submitted enty on IGI has Agnes Frame -died 13 March 1843 in Carluke. As I am in Australia I wondered if some kind person in Carluke could verify this for me. She was married to James Brown in 1805 in Carluke. I was hoping there was some info on her headstone as they have become one of my brick walls. cheers Miska

Hi miska  :)

Are you wanting information on Agnes's parents or just  burial/MI info?

To avoid too much duplication, here they are on the 1841 census:

Also this one as possible parents:

Carluke Mareckhed

RD 629 ED 10 Page 7

James Brown, 60-64, ag lab
Agness, 60-64
Gavin, 25-29, ag lab
Mary, 20-24

all born Lanarkshire

Gadget

and children showing for them:

The ones showing for James Brown and Agnes Frame are:

1807 John
1810 Robert
1812 Gavin and Thomas
1814 William
1816 Jean
1820 Mary

All Carluke - no Agnes(s), Nancy or Ann(e)s - However, Agnes would have been the name for the third daughter (after Jean and Mary ?) but they don't seem to have a James to make it a cut and dried naming convention  :-\

Hi! Gadget
What I am really after at the moment is confirmation that Agnes Frame was the mother of our Agnes Brown. the Agnes Broun born 13 May 1823 on OPR records  fits in so well, she even had a brother Gavin and although I see none of her own children called that she had a grandson named Gavin Brown Paton.
I agree that the 41 census looks very like the Brown/Frame family I am looking at.If they do turn out to be the right family I think I will have trouble tracing the Frames as I can't as yet get a handle on Ag Frame.Miska

thanks
yes I am jumping between ,perhaps I will stick to the other thread to help avoid confusion. I have a fair amount on the Patons and have been looking for many years now.even before my internet days. however I have never come across the name Whitefield. Although I believe it is a well known name in the Lanarkshire area. Miska. PS I wonder if there is a James Broun, it seems odd that he's missed out.

There is the gap between their marriage and first child. Maybe there was a James there. Do you know what James, snr's father's name was?
