It seems that the spelling of McFadyen depended on the scribe as most folks were illiterate when it came to Census and Parish records. I've seen McFadzean, McFadyin , and McFadzen used all within the same family

mary hendrie,died 7 mar 1843,age 1yr 3 mth,teething fever
mary hendrie,doed 25 july 1841 ,wife of james hendrie,labourer,age 64,typhus fever
mrs hendrie,died 12 sep 1842,gateside,age 68

If it's not too much trouble could you see if you have a death for Alexander Wyllie,
unfortunately I have no birth date.   ::) All I know is that his father John Wyllie was living in Gallowberry Ayrshire and remarried in 1713, so it may be too early for your records  ???
